Living Stone, I presume?

Living Stone poster

Stone can be an ever so fascinating subject. And of course: it doesn't go anywhere and might therefore be a rather rewarding motif. No chasing, no camouflage needed. But still, you have to be there at the right time. Otherwise you'll miss the colors and the emotions it can give you.
Light and stone together, with water as a conveyor of myriads of living organisms, can offer you these small works of art only a slow, patient walker can discover on the bottom of the sea.
The exhibition in Ottenby's Blue Pavilion (Blå Paviljongen), situated by Sweden's highest lighthouse Långe Jan on Öland, will be open for one week only, from 11 am to 5 pm
As usual a donation will be made to the Swedish Ornithological Society - SOF based on the eventual sale of the pictures.
Welcome!

Konstrundan - women photographers' network

Exhibition Mooh!

On saturday 23 August at noon about a hundred women photographers will simultaneously open their exhibitions all over Sweden and abroad. Find out more here!
Personally I welcome you to attend to a picture show dedicated to a gentle, yet strong and most beautiful creature which is very present in the local landscape, strongly contributing to Southern Öland having been included to the UNESCO list of world heritage: the bovine.
The picture show will take place by the lighthouse Segerstads fyr from 12 noon until 6 p.m. on saturday 23 August ONLY!
To find the lighthouse turn east abt. 30 meters south of the northern sign "Segerstad".

PLEASE NOTE:

the road to the lighthouse (abt. 2 km) is particularly bumpy and precarious. If you choose to drive down by car (rather than taking a beautiful walk) driving occurs fully at you own risk and responsability! Because there is no opportunity to meet another car on the road drive down to the lighthouse every hour starting at 12 o'clock and back up to the village from the lighthouse every hour starting at 12:30.
WELCOME!
P.S. Weather permitting a small "al fresco" café will be opened in the lighthouse garden with simple refreshments to purchase.

Ölands Konstnatten - The Night of the Arts

Konstnatten pressbild Foto: Peter Strand

This year I'll have the honour and privilege to work alongside Bodil Magnusson, an established glass sculptress whose fascinating works are inspired by ancient viking legends and pagan beliefs of the mysterious North.
Joining together past and present and with stone as theme Bodil will create a suggestive and mystical atmosphere on the ancient burial field of Seby (south-eastern Öland). The visitors will also have the opportunity to visit her studio, situated south of, and partly on, the burial field.
In the barn north of the studio I will present a multimedia show entitled "The Gorgons' Glance - there's still a Trace of Life", encouraging the viewers to see through the powerful yet tranquil material that is stone, often considered just dead matter.

Spring 2008 in Sweden and July 17th to 23rd in Finland

Reflections

“...why should we not calmly and patiently review our own thoughts, and thoroughly examine and see what these appearances in us really are?” - Plato

Exhibition Reflections

The latest "Reflections" exhibition was held in Finland in July (17 - 23) in Miinan mökki in Sammatti and was a success. The sale of pictures resulted in a donation of 250€ (50€ for every sold picture) to the Swedish Ornithological Society - SOF for conservation work.
I thank all the visitors and especially the buyers, who will be contributors to the valuable conservation work of SOF both in Sweden and all over the world. THANK YOU!
